As a Fira Barcelona stand builder, we have delivered nine stands across three shows at Gran Via, including six at a single edition of Vitafoods Europe. This page also covers those projects, the venue, and what building in Barcelona involves.

Our Fira Barcelona stands
- NAEPEC 2023 — 40 m² for NAFFCO (8 × 5 m), fire protection for energy infrastructure, 13–16 March 2023
- Vitafoods Europe 2025 — two modular stands, 24 m² and 18 m², for two separate clients in the same hall, 20–22 May 2025
- Vitafoods Europe 2026 — six stands, one build team, 5–7 May 2026, including JIAHERB, SNC Good Fortune, ATK Biotech, NNB, Qingyunshan and Sudeep Nutrition
Elsewhere in the city, we also built for EVA Pharma at the ESCEO congress, a 28 m² stand in May 2023.
Six stands at one show
Vitafoods Europe moved to Barcelona in 2025 after 26 years in Geneva, and we were there for the first edition. A year later we built six stands at the same show for six different exhibitors. That, however, changes the nature of the job.
When there is one stand, the crew follows one plan. With six, by contrast, the build becomes a logistics exercise: one shipment sequenced by hall and stand, one crew moving between plots in a planned order, and every stand finished and handed over inside the same build window. In other words, the hard part is not any single stand but the order in which all six go up.
The venue
- Fira Barcelona Gran Via offers around 240,000 m² of gross exhibition space across eight halls
- The Japanese architect Toyo Ito designed it, with large, clear halls
- Located in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, between the city centre and the airport, with its own metro stops
- Fira Barcelona also runs a second venue, Montjuïc, in the city centre, so always check which one your show uses
What building at Fira Barcelona involves
- Tight build-up windows. Gran Via runs busy back-to-back calendars, so build-up is short and the hall must also be clear on time
- Raw space means raw space. Consequently, flooring, walls, lighting and power distribution on the stand are the builder’s responsibility
- The organiser takes service orders well before the show, because power, rigging and hall services close early
- Spain is inside the EU customs union, so our stands travel from Milan by road as one shipment, without border formalities
Modular construction pays off here. For example, the two 2025 Vitafoods stands shared the same underlying system, which therefore made them faster to install and easier to adapt to each client’s brand.
Planning a Fira Barcelona build
- Confirm Gran Via or Montjuïc before anything else, because the access and hall heights differ
- Agree the build sequence early when more than one stand is involved, especially for agencies and national pavilions
- Consider a modular system if you exhibit at Vitafoods or other annual shows every year, since you can rebuild and rebrand it
- Book crew hotels early. During major congresses and fairs, Barcelona fills up quickly
