Exhibition Stand Austria - Echo Expo

Exhibition stand in Austria — designed and built by Echo Expo

Vienna has spent decades building its reputation as a neutral, diplomatically convenient meeting point between Western Europe and the former Eastern Bloc. Its exhibition calendar reflects that history. International organizations, energy-sector fairs. B2B trade shows here often draw a genuinely pan-European and Central Asian audience that a Western European-only show wouldn’t attract. For exhibitors specifically trying to open doors in Central and Eastern Europe without committing to a Warsaw or Bucharest show first, Vienna is often the lower-risk first step.

Vienna as a Central Europe Gateway

Many exhibitors use a Vienna show as a test of Central and Eastern European market appetite before investing further east. We plan stands with this in mind. Modular systems built for potential reuse at a follow-up Polish, Czech, or Hungarian show are common requests here, and we scope the build accordingly from the outset where relevant.

Where We Build

Freight & Customs

As an EU member state, Austria allows free movement of goods for EU-origin shipments. Non-EU shipments require standard customs documentation or an ATA Carnet for reusable stand materials. We recommend starting logistics planning 8–10 weeks ahead for EU shipments, and 10–12 weeks for non-EU origin freight.

What We Deliver

Industries Exhibiting in Austria

Energy and utilities, industrial machinery, life sciences, tourism, and international diplomacy-adjacent sectors make up much of Austria’s exhibition traffic. We’ve supported exhibitors across each of these, with particular experience helping Western European brands stage their first Central and Eastern European exhibition from Vienna.

– Exhibiting in Austria

Which venues do you cover in Austria?

Reed Messe Wien, Austria Center Vienna, Messezentrum Salzburg, and other regional venues on request.

Can Vienna work as a base for exhibiting further into Central and Eastern Europe?

Yes. Many exhibitors use a Vienna show to test the wider region before committing to further shows. We can plan a modular build with reuse in mind.

Building in Austria from Milan. Our workshop in Milan sits a short road haul from Austria, and we run the same route for Switzerland and Germany. Design, fabrication, freight, installation and dismantling stay with one team. Recent European work includes a 40 m² stand for GETX Fabrics at Heimtextil, Messe Frankfurt, stand 4.0 B38 — see more on recent projects or the workshop shots under production photos. Send the event, stand size and hall and we will quote it itemised.

Do you handle customs for non-EU shipments?

Yes. We coordinate ATA Carnet processing and standard import documentation.

How early should we start planning?

8–10 weeks for EU-origin shipments, 10–12 weeks for non-EU freight.

Exhibition stands in Austria — common questions

Do you build exhibition stands in Austria?

Yes. We design and fabricate in our own workshops in Milan, Italy and Casablanca, Morocco, then ship in and install with our own team. The same people handle design, production, freight, installation and dismantling, so there is one point of contact throughout.

How do freight and customs work for Austria?

As an EU member state, Austria allows free movement of goods from our Milan workshop, so no customs declaration is needed for stand materials moving from Italy. Exhibitors shipping from outside the EU still need an ATA Carnet or standard import documentation, and we allow ten to twelve weeks for that.

How far in advance should we plan a stand in Austria?

Allow six months for a standard build and nine months for anything above 50 sqm or with heavy structural elements. Road freight from Milan reaches Austria quickly, but the hall build-up window and organiser approvals are scheduled tightly, so early planning is what protects the timeline.

Can you build if we already have a design?

Yes. We work from your approved 3D design, or design from a brief. Either way we produce the technical layouts the venue needs for organiser approval, and we quote each element separately so nothing appears as an extra during build-up.
