AIDEX brings the humanitarian sector together in Geneva. UN agencies, NGOs, procurement teams and the suppliers who equip them all attend. Alpinter, a supplier of relief items and emergency shelter, took a 30 sqm exhibition stand in Geneva across the two show days.

A stand built to display physical product

This is a procurement audience, not a passing one. Visitors arrive to inspect goods, compare specifications and talk to the people who supply them. So we built the stand around that. It sat open on two sides for approach, with structured shelving and display bays so relief items could be shown as objects rather than photographs. Meanwhile, a meeting area stayed clear of the display run.

Two days, one build window

A two-day show compresses everything. There is no recovery time for a build that arrives incomplete. Dismantling begins almost as soon as the second day closes. Therefore we prepared the components in our own workshops and shipped them ready to assemble. On-site work was installation rather than fabrication.

Geneva as a venue

Palexpo runs to a tight schedule and expects contractors to work to it. That is the same discipline behind our other Geneva build, the Tata Coffee stand at World of Coffee, and the reason we prefer structures that assemble predictably over ones that need adjusting on the floor.
