Rail is not like other sectors
SIFER is the French rail industry trade fair, and the people walking the aisles are infrastructure managers, track engineers and procurement teams from national operators. They are not browsing. They arrive with a list, they know exactly which fastening system they are there to look at, and they will not stop for a stand that cannot show them the product.
That single fact decided the layout. The stand is not built around a reception desk. It is built around somewhere to put a rail clip in someone’s hand.

Why the lettering is cut, not printed
A printed vinyl logo on a yellow wall photographs the same as a cut one. In the hall it does not read the same at all. Cut letters standing proud of the surface throw a shadow, and that shadow is what makes the name legible from an angle and under the hall’s flat overhead light.
It costs more and it takes longer to install. On a stand whose whole job is to be recognised from the far end of an aisle, it is the part you do not value-engineer out.
A tower earns its space
On 42 m² a solid tower is expensive floor area to give up. It was worth it here because SIFER halls are wide and low, so a stand at normal fascia height disappears behind whatever is in front of it.
The tower carries the name on two faces and a portrait screen on the third, so it works as a landmark from three directions and as a content surface from one. It is the only part of the stand visible from outside the immediate aisle, and it is the reason people arrive at the stand having already decided to come.
Built in Morocco, installed in France
This is a French show for a client with UK operations, built in our workshop and trucked to Lille. Everything that could be finished off site was: paint, lettering, counters and shelving all arrived complete.
Lille Grand Palais is a city-centre venue, not a fairground on a ring road. Delivery slots are short and there is nowhere to park a trailer while you think. The less that has to be made on site, the less exposed the build is to a missed window.
Why it matters
Rail is a sector with long procurement cycles and a small number of buyers who all know each other. Getting the stand right at SIFER is not about lead volume — it is about being taken seriously by the fifteen people who matter.
