This textile exhibition stand for SUMILON was approved, produced and installed on one of the tightest timelines we have run: a few days from approval to the hall, and a single day on site. Lire cette étude de cas en français.

A textile exhibition stand on a three-day clock
SUMILON confirmed its stand only days before the Yarn and Fabric Sourcing Show. The technical design was signed off. However, the exhibitor manual left no slack: one build day, 2 November, from 00:00 to 23:00, with the doors opening at 10:00 the next morning. As a result, production, graphics, shipping and installation all had to fit into the same few days.
In fact, it is the same discipline behind our three EVS Mobility Expo stands built in a single day in this hall a week earlier: every part made and finished in the workshop, then assembled on site in the order it was drawn.
From render to a finished textile exhibition stand
In the end, the finished stand follows the approved render closely: the white tower with the 3D logo and red display cubes on the left, the yarn graphics across the back wall, and the angled red wing with lit shelves framing the reception counter.
What the design asked for
| Element | As designed |
|---|---|
| Area | 18 m², 6 × 3 m, stand B19–B20 |
| Floor | 40 mm raised floor with grey carpet |
| Walls | White paint finish with red feature panels in RAL 3020, about 3.35 m high |
| Branding | 3D SUMILON logo and large-format posters across the back and side walls |
| Display | Lit red display shelves and a product wall for the film and yarn range |
| Furniture | Branded reception counter, meeting table with chairs, worktop and a lockable cabinet |
Why white and red
SUMILON’s range is about surface: metallic yarns, holographic and metallised films. Therefore the stand stays mostly white, so the products and the big yarn imagery carry the colour. At the same time, one red wing on the corner pulls visitors in from the aisle and frames the reception counter.
Build day, 2 November
First, the walls and display shelving of this textile exhibition stand were cut and pre-assembled in our workshop. As a result, the day on site was assembly and finishing. Then the crew started on an empty floor, raised the timber frame and walls and finished the white and red surfaces. Finally, they fitted the lighting, graphics and furniture.
The finished textile exhibition stand
The OFEC rules that shaped it
- A 12-foot limit. Special-design stands may rise to about 3.66 m, therefore, the walls were drawn to stay within it.
- No fixings into the hall. For example, no screwing, drilling, nailing or painting on floors, walls or pillars, and every material fire-proofed, which is why the raised floor and walls are freestanding.
- One build day, one removal night. Build on 2 November; removal from 18:00 to midnight on 5 November, with nothing left behind.
