As a Messe Frankfurt stand builder, we have delivered around ten stands across seven shows at the venue, in six unrelated industries. This page also covers those projects, the venue itself, and what building in Frankfurt actually involves.

Our Messe Frankfurt stands
- CPHI 2022 — 78 m² for EVA Pharma. Pharmaceuticals, and the largest of our Frankfurt builds
- Light + Building 2022 — 54 m² for VICE. A lighting stand lit entirely by the client’s own fixtures
- Fi Europe 2024 — three stands, 86 m² in total, plus a show-shelf booth, for food-ingredients exhibitors
- Heimtextil 2025 — 40 m² for GTEX Fabrics, stand 4.0 B38, home textiles
- Ambiente 2025 — Sapana Polyweave, floor coverings at the world’s largest consumer-goods fair
- ISH 2025 — 36 m² for JTAccord and TopToilet, Hall 5.0 stand A69, bathrooms and sanitaryware
- CPHI Frankfurt — Sudeep Pharma, one of several editions for a repeat client
Seven shows, six industries, one venue. On the surface, a lighting stand has nothing in common with a sanitaryware stand. However, the hall rules, the delivery routine, the rigging procedure and the build calendar are the same every time, and that is the knowledge that cannot be looked up on the morning of the build.
The venue
- Around 400,000 m² of event space across ten halls, one of the largest exhibition grounds in the world
- In the city itself, not on the edge of it, with its own S-Bahn and U-Bahn stops
- Multi-level halls. The number before the dot is the hall and the number after it is the level, so 4.0 is the ground floor of Hall 4 and 4.1 the floor above
- Some shows take the whole site. Ambiente, for example, fills every hall for five days each February
The level number matters more than it looks. When a stand sits on a ground floor, the truck delivers it to the hall door. On an upper level, by contrast, every crate travels by goods lift, so we plan the build around lift slots rather than truck slots.

What building at Messe Frankfurt involves
Frankfurt is a well-run venue and therefore a strict one. The work is predictable, provided the paperwork arrives before the crew does.
- Fixed build windows. At ISH 2025, for example, set-up ran from 12 to 16 March and dismantling from 21 to 24 March. In short, nothing starts early and nothing overruns without permission
- Rigging is drawn, not improvised. Instead, every suspended element needs its own point on a submitted plan. For example, for VICE we placed eighteen fixtures, each on a separate point at 3.5 m
- In addition, flame-retardant materials to the German DIN 4102 B1 standard are the minimum for stand construction
- Electrical connections come from the venue’s own service, while the installation on the stand also has to be safe and documented
Germany is inside the EU customs union. Consequently, stand materials travel from our Milan workshop by road as one controlled shipment, with none of the border paperwork that a Swiss venue such as Palexpo in Geneva requires.
Planning a Messe Frankfurt build
- Check the hall level first. Upper levels change the delivery plan and sometimes also the maximum element size
- Submit rigging early. The venue takes orders for suspended signs and lighting, and the window closes well before the show
- Specify B1 materials from the start, rather than swapping them in after a hall inspection
- Book crew accommodation with the build slot. During Ambiente, Heimtextil or ISH, rooms in Frankfurt go quickly and expensively
- Plan graphics last but order them first. Printed walls are the item most often late, but also the one visitors notice first

Frequently asked questions
Are you a Messe Frankfurt stand builder?
Yes. We have built around ten stands at Messe Frankfurt across seven shows: CPHI, Light + Building, Fi Europe, Heimtextil, Ambiente, ISH and a second CPHI edition.
Which industries have you built for in Frankfurt?
Pharmaceuticals, lighting, food ingredients, home textiles, floor coverings and bathroom products. The venue rules stay the same across all of them, whereas the design changes every time.
How do you handle rigging at Messe Frankfurt?
Through a drawn rigging plan submitted for the hall, with every suspended element on its own point. We therefore prepare the plan alongside the design, not after it.
Do you ship from Italy to Frankfurt?
Yes. We prefabricate the stand in our Milan workshop, and then it travels by road as a single shipment, with no customs step inside the EU.
Need a Messe Frankfurt stand builder?
Hall plans and technical guidelines are published by Messe Frankfurt. Tell us the show, the hall and the stand size, and we will return a design and a build plan that already accounts for the level, the rigging and the build window.
