Our BolognaFiere stands
- Cosmoprof Worldwide — three consecutive editions, 2022 to 2024. These include three editions for JL International and its DLUX brand, a professional-beauty stand in Hall 36 (stand M7), and further builds for treatment, accessory and packaging exhibitors, among them AGI Greenpac at Cosmopack
- Zoomark International 2023 — 28 m² for THAI AWESOME, 15–17 May 2023, the international pet-industry fair
- TABEXPO 2023 — 18 m² for Riedel Filtertechnik, 10–11 May 2023, filtration technology for manufacturers
Beauty, pet products and manufacturing technology have nothing in common as markets. However, the venue rules, the hall access and the documents that BolognaFiere requires are the same for all three, and that knowledge carries from one project to the next.
The venue
- 18 halls in the Bologna Fiera district, with five separate entrances, so several shows can run at the same time
- About 2 km from Bologna Centrale railway station, and a short drive from the airport
- Bologna sits on the main road and rail corridor between Milan and the south, so freight from our Milan workshop arrives in a single day by road
Cosmoprof is four shows, not one
Cosmoprof Worldwide is the largest beauty trade show in the world, and it is really four events in one: Cosmopack for the supply chain and packaging, Cosmo Perfumery & Cosmetics for retail brands, and Cosmo Hair, Nail & Beauty Salon for the professional channel. Each runs to its own schedule in its own halls.
That matters twice. First, a stand that reads correctly in one hall can read completely wrong in another, so the design follows the audience of the hall rather than the show as a whole. Second, the build-up windows do not line up, so a contractor working across several halls plans each one separately.
The paperwork: five forms, whatever the size
BolognaFiere asks every stand builder for a full compliance dossier before final sign-off. For Riedel’s 18 m² stand at TABEXPO, that meant five separate mandatory declarations:
- An import notice for any goods arriving from outside the EU, filed before the freight moves
- A statement of correct execution of the stand’s electrical system, signed by the installer
- A workplace accident-prevention disclosure for the build
- A waste-management declaration covering build-up and dismantling
- A structural declaration for the stand as erected
Each form has its own deadline and a named signatory, and a missing one means a stand that does not get its final approval. In other words, an 18 m² stand carries the same dossier as a 300 m² one. We prepare it in house rather than subcontracting it, which is why a short build window at Bologna stays manageable.
Planning a BolognaFiere build
- Confirm your hall before the design starts, especially at Cosmoprof, where each hall serves a different audience
- Start the compliance dossier early; all five declarations have deadlines before the build
- Declare non-EU goods in advance, because the import notice must be filed before anything travels
- Plan for short shows. TABEXPO, for example, ran for only two days, so there is no quiet first morning to fix a build-up problem
- Book hotels with the build slot. During Cosmoprof, Bologna fills up quickly
