GITEX Africa Stand Builder
Exhibition Stands Designed, Built and Installed for GITEX Africa at Place Bab Jdid, Marrakech — 26–28 April 2027
GITEX Africa returns to Marrakech from 26 to 28 April 2027 for its fifth edition. It is the continent’s largest technology and startup show: artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, connectivity, digital cities, fintech, mobility, manufacturing and the startups and investors around all of them. The show is held at Place Bab Jdid, on Boulevard Al Yarmouk, beside the walls of the Marrakech medina.
As a GITEX Africa stand builder, Echo Expo designs and builds exhibition stands for the show from our own workshop in Casablanca, about 240 km up the A7 motorway. Stand components are cut, finished and numbered in the workshop, then trucked to Marrakech in build order. That keeps the on-site days for assembly, lighting and graphics rather than for carpentry.

What the Show Covers
GITEX Africa is organised in themed areas, and each one draws a different visitor. The 2027 programme lists AI Everything Morocco, Digital Cities, Future Banking and Finance, Future Manufacturing and Robotics, the Future Mobility Park, GISEC Africa for cybersecurity, Connectivity, Intelligent Infrastructure and New Energy, and North Star Africa for startups and investors.
In practice that means three very different stand briefs share the same site. A telecom operator or a cloud provider needs presence and meeting rooms. Meanwhile, a cybersecurity or fintech company needs demo stations where a buyer can sit down for twenty minutes. Finally, a startup needs a compact, well-lit pod that reads from the aisle. We design for the brief you actually have, not for a generic tech look.
Why a GITEX Africa Stand Needs a Specialist Builder
- Screens and power come first. Most GITEX stands are built around LED walls, monitors and live demos. We plan the power and data runs, the screen mounting and the cable routes inside the walls at the drawing stage, so nothing is taped to the floor on day one.
- Meetings are the point. With 450+ investors and buyers from 150+ countries, closed or semi-closed meeting space is worth more than another display wall. We draw it in from the first sketch.
- Heat and light. Late April in Marrakech is warm. Stand lighting, LED walls and visitor numbers all add heat, so we use LED fittings, keep air moving through the stand and avoid heavy closed boxes where people sit.
- Distance from the workshop. For this reason, everything is built and checked in Casablanca first. If a panel needs changing, it changes in the workshop, not in a hall 240 km away.
A GITEX Africa Stand Builder Proven in Morocco
In fact, we build in Morocco every season. In October 2026 we built three stands for the Africa EV Mobility Expo in a single build day at the Casablanca fairground, and in 2026 we built the 792 m² China pavilion at SIEMA Food Expo. The same workshop, crews and build method serve GITEX Africa.
For exhibitors arriving from Europe, our Milan office can run the design and project management while the Casablanca workshop builds. One contract, one project manager, from the first drawing to the last screw on the removal night.
Other Event Venues in Marrakech
GITEX Africa is not the only show that brings exhibitors to Marrakech. The city has three kinds of event sites, and each needs a different build plan:
- Place Bab Jdid, on Boulevard Al Yarmouk beside the medina walls: the site of GITEX Africa since its first edition in 2023, with the halls set up for the show.
- The Royal Moroccan Air Force base in Marrakech: home of the Marrakech Air Show, a biennial aerospace and defence show. The 8th edition ran from 7 to 10 October 2026 with close to 200 exhibitors from 27 countries, more than 17,000 professional visitors in its first three days and about 25,000 public visitors. Chalets and stands sit beside the static aircraft display, with security accreditation for every crew member.
- Hotel and congress venues in the Hivernage and Palmeraie districts, which host conferences, product launches and association congresses with smaller exhibition areas.
For all of them, the stand is built and checked in our Casablanca workshop first, then delivered by road in build order.
Planning With Your GITEX Africa Stand Builder
A realistic timeline for a custom stand at GITEX Africa:
- Design brief and first concept: 8 to 10 weeks before the show, in February 2027.
- Design approval and organiser submission: 6 to 8 weeks before. Space-only stands need drawings approved by the organiser.
- Production in Casablanca: 3 to 4 weeks before.
- Transport to Marrakech and build: in the build days the organiser sets before 26 April.
In addition, one more date to watch: SIAM, the agriculture show in Meknès, runs from 19 to 27 April 2027, so its last two days overlap with GITEX Africa. Trucks, crews and hotels in central Morocco will be busy that week. Book early. See our SIAM Meknès stand builder page.
Frequently Asked Questions
When and where is GITEX Africa 2027?
GITEX Africa 2027 runs from 26 to 28 April 2027 at Place Bab Jdid, Bd Al Yarmouk, in Marrakech, Morocco. It is the fifth edition of the show.
How big is GITEX Africa?
The organiser targets 1,600+ exhibitors and startups, 60,000 visitors and buyers, 150+ countries, 450+ investors and 700+ speakers for 2027. The 2026 edition had 1,500+ exhibitors and 55,000 visitors.
Do you build stands in Marrakech from Morocco or from Europe?
From Morocco. Echo Expo builds from its own workshop in Casablanca, about 240 km from Marrakech by motorway. Our Milan office can manage the design for European exhibitors.
Can a GITEX Africa stand builder add LED walls and live demos?
Yes. Most GITEX stands are built around screens and demos, so we plan power, data, screen mounting and cable routes inside the walls at the drawing stage.
When should I start planning a GITEX Africa 2027 stand?
Start the design 8 to 10 weeks before the show, in February 2027. SIAM in Meknès overlaps with GITEX on 26 and 27 April 2027, so book crews, transport and hotels early.
Have you built stands in Morocco before?
Yes. In 2026 we built three stands for the Africa EV Mobility Expo in one build day and the 792 m² China pavilion at SIEMA Food Expo, both in Casablanca.
