Short answer: GITEX Africa 2027 runs from 26 to 28 April 2027 in Marrakech. A workable plan starts about three to four months ahead: book your space, brief your stand builder by February, get drawings approved six to eight weeks before the show, and book hotels and transport early, because SIAM in Meknès overlaps with GITEX that week. This GITEX Africa checklist sets out every step in order.
It is based on the organiser’s published information, checked on 31 October 2026, and on how we plan tech stands in Morocco. Always confirm dates, venue and rules in your exhibitor contract and manual.
GITEX Africa 2027: the key facts
- Dates: 26 to 28 April 2027, the fifth edition.
- City: Marrakech. The 2026 edition took place at Place Bab Jdid, which the organiser calls the Marrakech Exhibition & Convention Centre. When we checked, gitexafrica.com had not yet published the 2027 venue, so confirm it in your contract.
- Organiser: KAOUN International, the overseas events arm of Dubai World Trade Centre, hosted in Morocco by the Digital Development Agency (ADD).
- 2027 targets: 1,600+ exhibitors and startups, 60,000 visitors and buyers, 150+ countries, 450+ investors and 700+ speakers.
- Deliveries: the organiser’s FAQ says deliveries on exhibition days are allowed from 10 pm to 8 am.
The GITEX Africa checklist, step by step
Three to four months before (January 2027)
- Confirm your space, stand size and position in your exhibitor contract.
- Choose your themed area, for example AI, cybersecurity (GISEC Africa), fintech, mobility or the North Star Africa startup zone.
- Write a brief: products to demo, number of screens, meeting rooms, storage and staff count.
- Choose a stand builder and agree the design timeline.
Ten to twelve weeks before (February 2027)
- Approve the concept and 3D design.
- Plan power, data and screen positions, and route cables inside the walls rather than across the floor.
- Book hotels and flights. SIAM in Meknès runs from 19 to 27 April 2027, so rooms, trucks and crews across Morocco fill up early that fortnight.
Six to eight weeks before (March 2027)
- Submit stand drawings to the organiser for approval, as space-only stands require.
- Order services that are not included in your space, such as electrical connections and internet.
- Prepare an ATA carnet or temporary admission for demo equipment shipped from abroad.
Three to four weeks before
- Your builder fabricates and test-assembles the stand in the workshop.
- Print graphics and check every name, logo and screen size.
- Ship products and demo equipment, allowing time for customs clearance.
Build days and show days
- Your builder delivers the stand in build order and assembles it in the organiser’s build window.
- Test every screen, demo and network connection before opening.
- Plan restocking around the delivery window, from 10 pm to 8 am on show days.
- Keep this GITEX Africa checklist to hand during the build, so nothing is missed on the day.
What a GITEX Africa stand needs
The last part of the GITEX Africa checklist is the stand itself.
- Screens and demos first: most stands are built around LED walls, monitors and live demos, so we plan power and data at the drawing stage.
- Meeting space: with 450+ investors and buyers from 150+ countries expected, a closed or semi-closed meeting room is often worth more than another display wall.
- Heat: late April in Marrakech is warm. LED lighting, open layouts and good air flow keep visitors and staff comfortable.
- Distance from the workshop: Marrakech is about 240 km from Casablanca by motorway, so we check everything in the workshop before it travels.
Our team builds tech and mobility stands in Morocco. For example, we built three stands in one build day at EVS Morocco 2026. Read the full brief on our GITEX Africa stand builder page.
